Tatry Euroregion

The Tatry Euroregion is a Euroregion in the border area between Poland and Slovakia . The Euroregion borders the Beskydy Euroregion in the west and the Carpathian Euroregion in the east.

Emergence

The Tatry Euroregion was founded on August 26, 1994 in Nowy Targ , which is also the seat of the Tatry Euroregion administration. It unites the border areas of Poland and Slovakia around the Tatra Mountains . It includes the historical regions of Podhale , Spiš , Liptau and Orava as well as the cities of Zakopane , Nowy Targ, Rabka-Zdrój , Szczawnica and Limanowa in Poland and Liptowski Mikułasz , Poprad and Stara Lubowla in Slovakia.

The main goals of the Euroregion are joint activities for the balanced development of the region, the meeting of residents and institutions. In the latter case, the main aim is to exchange information and experience, improve the labor market situation and promote economic development. At the same time, solutions to traffic problems and the infrastructure should be sought together. The tasks of environmental protection and living conditions should also be solved together.

Poland

The Polish side consists of Tatrzański , Nowotarski , Sucha , Limanowski and Nowosądecki counties and parts of Myślenicki and Gorlicki counties .
