Eva Maria Pieckert (* 7. September 1955 in Halle ) is a German pop singer and former GDR -Jugendpolitikerin the Free German Youth (FDJ).

Life

Eva Maria Pieckert made her first musical experiences in the Ulrich von Hutten school choir, which enjoyed great success at home and abroad and at the annual Handel Festival in Halle. At the age of 16 she was enrolled at the Music Academy in Leipzig and completed a five-year course there.

She was in June 1981 on the XI. and in May 1985 on the XII. Parliament of the FDJ elected as a member of the Central Council of the FDJ .

Her repertoire includes hits, chansons , jazz and gospel as well as musicals and folk music .

Awards at national singing competitions and at international festivals, such as the Golden Amber Nightingale in Sopot in 1984, followed. She made guest appearances in the Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin and delighted the audience at the annual Opera Ball in Frankfurt am Main .

Bernd Wefelmeyer performed the Messiah adaptation based on Georg Friedrich Händel in Halle with the Philharmonic State Orchestra Halle in 1999 . Eva Maria Pieckert made a guest appearance with this project in 2000 at the Berlin Waldbühne . Another performance followed in 2006 on Theaterplatz Dresden to mark the 800th anniversary.

In 2000 and 2001 she toured Germany with Carmen Nebel as a guest soloist at the Christmas Festival of Folk Music . From 2002 to 2005 she toured with Walter Plathe on various stages with the Christmas play Tales of Christmas Tree Geese , for example in the comedy on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin and in the comedy Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg.

In 2006 Eva Maria Pieckert hosted the entertainment program Der Lange Saturday together with Wolfgang Winkler on the MDR . Further TV appearances followed in programs such as Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel on ZDF or the Mother's Day show with Petra Kusch-Lück on MDR.
