Eva Schmidt (writer)

Eva Schmidt (born May 17, 1952 in Lustenau , Vorarlberg ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Eva Schmidt lives as a freelance writer in Bregenz . She is the author of narrative prose and radio plays ; next translated it from the Italian .

After the novel Zwischen der Zeit (1997), Schmidt published her second novel, consisting of 38 episodes, in 2016, a long year , which is located in Bregenz, even if the city is never mentioned. The story, which reminded critics of Robert Altman's film Short Cuts , was shortlisted for the 2016 German Book Prize .
