Eva Speyer

Eva Speyer (born August 24, 1883 in Berlin ; † in the 20th century ) was a German actress .
Life
She received her training as an actress at Maria Seebach's school and made her debut in Hirschberg in 1904 . In 1905 she performed in Posen and from 1906 to 1908 at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf . In 1908 she embarked for America and performed in Milwaukee and in 1909 in New York .
In November 1910 she returned to Germany and played on Berlin theaters such as the Lessing Theater , Trianon Theater and the Small Theater. In 1911 Paul Otto encouraged her to take on a role in the new medium of film. In the years to come, Eva Speyer developed into one of the early stars of German silent film. She played mostly suffering women in melodramas .
In the 1920s she mostly only got supporting roles.
Speyer was married to the actor Otto Stoeckel and was therefore also called Eva Speyer-Stoeckel .
