The completed church was inaugurated on August 31, 1902.

The three bells of the church melted down for war purposes in 1918 during the First World War were replaced in 1926 by new bells cast in the Causard bell foundry ( Colmar ). In 1927, as part of a first major renovation, the interior was painted and a gas heater installed.

A storm in March 1948 caused the tower cross to break off. The following repair work was awarded to the master roofer Johann Marx ( Friedrichsthal ), while the Stuppi company (Landsweiler) made a new cross. In July 1949 the church was repainted by master painter Karl Ohliger (Landsweiler), and two months later the organ was cleaned and overhauled by master organ builder Lothar Hintze ( Cologne ), with a new register being installed. In 1951 the church received new bells again to replace the two large bells that were melted down during the Second World War in 1943. The still existing small bell was cast over. The solemn consecration of the bells took place on November 11, 1951.

In 1952 the church heating was renewed. In the years 1966/1967 a renovation took place, whereby the floor was equipped with underfloor heating and the interior of the nave was painted. For this, the two stained glass windows in the choir room were bricked up from the inside and the altar cross was replaced by a simple wooden cross. In December 1968 a new organ was handed over to its destination. In the autumn of 1986 the church tower underwent an extensive renovation and in the spring of 2000 the installation of a new heating system began. In 2006, the windows in the nave from the time the church was built were replaced by new windows and the two windows of the choir, which were bricked up from the inside in 1968, were exposed again.
