Everybody's Rockin ' is an album by Neil Young from the year 1983rd

Neil Young recorded the album with the band The Shocking Pinks , which existed only for these recordings, and they played a rockabilly album with their own compositions and cover versions. Although it's an atypical album for Neil Young, it reflects his love of experimentation in the 1980s, a decade in which he tried out different genres. The previous album, Trans, was an electro-rock album, while the following album, Old Ways , contains traditionally designed country.

Everybody's Rockin ' is Young's shortest album to date with a length of 24:55 minutes. A Mojo interview from the 1990s revealed that the songs Get Gone and Don't Take Your Love Away From Me were planned for the album . However, due to the destructive attitude of Geffen Records with regard to further sessions, they could not be realized and were later released on the album Lucky Thirteen .

Geffen blamed Young's enthusiasm for experimentation on this album as well as on Trans for his failure, which, according to Young, prevented the band REM from signing a contract with Geffen.

Young wrote the song Wonderin ' at the time of his 1970 album After the Gold Rush . He played the song acoustically as early as 1970 and later electrically with his band Crazy Horse (one of these appearances is on Live At The Fillmore East ).
