Yevgeny Vadimowitsch Kurbatow ( Russian Евгений Вадимович Курбатов ; born May 18, 1988 in Sverdlovsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was last under contract with HK Lada Tolyatti in the Vysschaja Hockey League .

Career

Yevgeny Kurbatow began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the HK Avangard Omsk , for whose second team he was active from 2005 to 2007 in the third-rate Pervaya League . In the 2006/07 season, the defender also made his debut for Awangard's professional team in the Superliga , in which he remained pointless in 15 games in his rookie year and received four penalty minutes. In the following two seasons, the junior international had a regular place at Awangard Omsk, with whom he took part in the newly founded Continental Hockey League in the 2008/09 season .

After Kurbatow had started the 2009/10 season with Awangards junior team in the multinational junior league MHL, he played from November 2009 to January 2010 in four games for Gasowik Tyumen from the Vysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, before leaving the KHL club HK CSKA Moscow was committed, for which he was on the ice in a total of nine games by the end of the season, in which he gave two templates.

At the beginning of the 2012/13 season Kurbatow first went on the ice for the partner team of CSKA, the THK Tver , before moving to Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg . In June 2013 he returned to CSKA in exchange for two voting rights for the KHL Junior Draft 2014 , but was unable to prevail at the army sports club and in November 2013 moved to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . In June 2014 he was signed by Amur Khabarovsk , where he played until 2016. Then he was under contract with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod for two years and was also used in the second division at HK Sarov .

After a short detour to the Slovak second division, Kurbatow was signed by HK Lada Tolyatti in January 2019 .

International

For Russia Kurbatow took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2008 , where he won the bronze medal with his team. During the tournament he scored two goals in seven games and prepared another three goals. This made him the defender with the most goals in the tournament and was voted one of the top three players on the Russian team. Before that, he was also part of the Russian junior national team at the 2007 Super Series .
