action

The businessman Thomas Skepphult is at the height of his career. His risky speculation firm, Nova Investment, is preparing to sell its stake in Cataegis. But the Russian buyer has encountered irregularities in the past related to an alleged suicide of an employee named Morgan Nordenstråle. At the same time, Thomas' mentor and partner Wilhelm Rahmberg reveals to him that he wants to retire. That same night, Wilhelm is brutally murdered in his house. The police arrest Thomas because he is profiting from the death of his partner and the murder weapon is a crowbar from his garage, which also contains his fingerprints. When Thomas tries to call his lawyer, the call is diverted to a stranger who threatens Thomas to harm his wife Anna and daughter Ebba if he does not give him the access data to his bank account in Jersey .

Shortly thereafter, Thomas managed to escape from police custody. Anna and Ebba flee to Thomas' employee Fabian von Klerking in the office, while Thomas is on the run with a boat. Preben Smed demands payment from Thomas for his help. Fabian and Thomas have meanwhile taken the scent of Morgan Nordenstråle, the employee who never killed himself. Thomas meets with Ahmed Aalam, a supposed Morgan employee. Thomas bribes Ahmed to find out Morgan's whereabouts, but Ahmed's people beat him up.

Preben is in Thomas' house with a few friends and is guarding Anna and Ebba. Thomas comes to and is tied to a chair. Ahmed tortures him and shows him a photo of Ebba, who then tells him where he has hidden money. Thomas escapes again and calls Preben, who assures him that his family is fine and that there is no danger. Anna notices that one of Preben's people doesn't work for him and is able to escape with Ebba, while Preben is knocked down and later shot. Meanwhile, Fabian negotiates, but he doesn't get any support, nobody believes in Thomas. Morgan finds Ahmed, who got the money from Thomas. Morgan puts in Ahmed, who calls Thomas, then Ahmed is shot by Morgan. Anna flees to her father, who wants to bring her to safety. Fabian is interrogated by the police. Then he meets with Thomas to clarify business.

Thomas is looking for a video that Wilhelm has hidden. His wife Luise, who is Morgan's lover, wants to see the video. You can see Morgan commit murder. Thomas wants the video as proof of his innocence. Wilhelm had a black money account that Luise couldn't get, she asked Thomas for money. He flees again, followed by the police. Fabian picks him up. Thomas is on the phone with Anna, who has been driving alone to her country house, when suddenly Morgan appears at her place. Luise swallows several tablets. Thomas drives off with Fabian. On the way he forces him to go to Luise's and get the videotape. Fabian doubts, but Thomas forces him to get out. Fabian finds Luise in bed. She cut her wrists. Fabian calls 911 and tries to save her, but she passes out. He sees the tape on a cupboard.

Morgan tied Anna up, put her on a chair and put a noose around her neck. He guards them with a rifle and waits for Thomas. Meanwhile, Thomas enters the house through the cellar. He takes a rifle but cannot find any cartridges. He ponders and briefly sets a fire in the cellar. Morgan becomes suspicious of the noises in the basement and opens the door to the basement. A torrent of fire comes towards him. Thomas wants to free Anna by cutting the rope with a knife. But Morgan comes to and threatens Thomas with the rifle. He wants Thomas to give him the account number, the access code and the password for his secret account. Morgan pushes the chair from under Anna's legs. The already cut rope breaks and Anna falls unconscious to the ground. The two men fight each other. Thomas kills Morgan and is able to take Anna outside. You can see them both and Anna is conscious again.

Fabian watches the video and discovers that another man was present in the murder. The reflection in an aquarium behind which the camera was hidden could have been Thomas. Fabian is not sure and rewinds the tape several times. When Thomas appears, Fabian is startled and asks Thomas who the reflection is. He doesn't say anything, he takes the tape and leaves. He asks Fabian if he made any more copies. He replies that he is now too afraid of Thomas for that.

In the last scene, Thomas is sitting in his office, an interview with his lawyer is on TV, who reports that Luise confessed to being a complicity in the murder of her husband. As a result, all allegations against Thomas were dropped. Thomas turns off the television and meets with a business partner.

criticism

“With speed, a tendency to violence and a plot tailored to the good main actor, the action thriller offers exciting entertainment. One or the other improbability is quickly forgotten in the numerous entanglements around violence, greed and quick business and is outweighed by the conclusive resolution. "
