Experience is the debut album by the English big beat band The Prodigy . It was released on XL Recordings on September 28, 1992 and rose to # 12 on the UK charts in October of the same year.
History of origin
The Prodigy had a recording deal since December 1990. In 1991 the singles "What Evil Lurks" and "Charly" were released. The latter sold very well and was accordingly included on the album, albeit as a Trip Into Drum And Bass version . In 1992 they released the fourth single Fire / Jericho as a heat-up on the album Experience , which was identified by a corresponding subtitle ( Strangely Limited Edition ). After the album was released, the single was re-released, but the subtitle was retained.
Music genre
In contrast to the later albums, this one was still very much oriented towards the young rave movement. The hardcore sound they released with this album made them members and pioneers of rave culture in the 1990s. With the follow-up album, however, they began to develop their own sound, also due to the fact that Howlett announced that he and the band would no longer produce dance music for the underground scene.

On June 19, 2001, an extended version of the album including a bonus CD with remixes and B-sides was released in the USA .
