Ezzo is a ska-punk band from Holzgerlingen near Stuttgart .

history

The band was founded in 2001 by Jochen Senger, Chris Sigalas and Sebastian "Sebb" Geiger, but did not play their first concerts until September 2002. In the beginning her style was punk rock with rare offbeat attacks, which was only supported by guitar, bass and drums. In 2003, brass instruments were added to the Ezzo; the style changed from punk to ska-punk. The success was rather moderate for the first two years, before the song Gina Wild , an ironic song about Gina Wild's exit from the porn business , brought the band a nationwide degree of popularity in the scene. The video clip on the YouTube platform received more than 120,000 clicks.

In 2009 longtime guitarist and singer Simon Schneider left the band. Patrick "Sandmann" Sandner was then engaged and enriched Ezzo with new influences.

Ezzo gave over 300 concerts, among others with Itchy Poopzkid , H-Blockx , Liquido , Peter Pan Speedrock , Catch 22 , Distemper , Bad Manners , Dallax.

On February 18, 2011, Ezzo announced on their blog in MySpace that they only played two more concerts and the band would then split up due to internal problems such as a "long band fight". On May 21, 2011 the birthday concert "10 Years Ezzo" took place.

style

Ezzo do everything themselves , from the music to the lyrics to the design of the merchandising items. They see themselves as a DIY band. Ezzo's texts always have a political background and are directed against racism.

The special thing about the style of Ezzo since 2004 is the ska-punk with trombone choir. In the course of time their style changed again and again, so they mix the ska-punk with elements of reggae and hardcore , but the focus of their music is always on fast, danceable offbeat pieces.
