Wolfgang Hölker (* 1948 in Münster ) is a German publisher .

Life

Hölker, the son of a master carpenter , learned the trade of a publishing clerk. From 1967 to 1975 he worked for an advertising agency. In 1967 he founded a gallery in Münster . He started working as a publisher in 1972 when he founded Hölker Verlag, where he initially published cookbooks with two employees.

In 1977 Hölker took over the Coppenrath Verlag, founded in 1768 . The children's books in the Felix series , of which three million copies were sold between 1994 and 2000, as well as Princess Lillifee and the associated merchandising products made him a self-made millionaire. He increased the publisher's sales from eleven million euros in 1995 to 55 million euros in 2005.

In 1986 he married Siggi Spiegelburg (* 1956). The edition "Die Spiegelburg" founded by Hölker and his wife bears her name. The couple had two daughters, born in 1986 and 1991.

Hölker is committed to the protection of monuments, including the renovation of a town house in Münster, the Mervelder Hof in Horstmar and a half-timbered warehouse in Ascheberg . He initiated the development of the Kreativkai in the Münster city harbor, where the Coppenrath Verlag is based. He also had the listed fire station restored in the port area.
