Félix Lope María Córdova Dávila (born November 20, 1878 in Vega Baja , †  December 3, 1938 in Condado ) was a Puerto Rican politician . Between 1917 and 1932 he represented Puerto Rico as a delegate ( Resident Commissioner ) in the House of Representatives of the United States .

Career

Félix Córdova Dávila attended the public schools in Manatí . After a subsequent law degree at the National University Law School in Washington, DC and his admission to the bar in 1903, he began to work in this profession in San Juan . Between 1904 and 1917 he served as a judge at various courts in Puerto Rico. In 1908 he served as a prosecutor in Aguadilla for some time . Politically, he belonged to the Unión de Puerto Rico .

On July 16, 1917 Dávila was elected as a non-voting delegate to the US House of Representatives in Washington, where he succeeded Luis Muñoz Rivera on August 7, 1917 . After three re-elections, he was able to exercise this mandate until his resignation on April 11, 1932. His resignation came after his appointment to the Supreme Court Justice of Puerto Rico, the Tribunal Supremo . He held this office until his death on December 3, 1938. His son Jorge Luis Córdova also became Resident Commissioner .
