Förstenreuth is a district of the Stammbach market in the Upper Franconian district of Hof .
The village is in the open, just under 3 km north of Stammbach on the district road HO 35 from the federal road 289 to Stammbach.
According to Helmut Hennig, Förstenreuth is a foundation of the Förtsch von Thurnau , to which the place name also refers. The Förtsch are the von Wallenrode family line . Via nuns of the families who joined the Himmelkron monastery , the monastery should finally have come into full possession of the place.
Förstenreuth was an independent municipality with the districts Hartmanneinzel , Höhlmühle , Kropfeinzel , Kropfmühle , Mittlereinzel , Obereinzel , Röhrigeinzel , Untereinzel , Weickenreuth and Wildenhof and until 1972 part of the Münchberg district . On July 1, 1972, it was incorporated into Stammbach as part of the municipal reform.
The painter Karl Schricker was born in Förstenreuth .
