The Fürstin Gloria is a passenger motor ship on the Danube in Regensburg and is designed as a day excursion ship for scheduled services, for themed and charter trips. The ship is operated by Schifffahrt Klinger GmbH. It has 400 seats, 200 of which are indoor. 250 places are permitted.

Interior construction

The saloon-style passenger compartment has an area of 320 m 2 and is 2.40 m high.

history

The idea for Princess Gloria arose in the ranks of Schifffahrt Klinger GmbH in 2010/2011. The ship was designed by Schiffswerft Bolle GmbH with the assistance of Gerhard Hellmich, the former manager of the Deggendorf shipyard . The interior design comes from Klaus Caspers, a well-known Regensburg architect and artist. Many elements of the ship were based on the Art Nouveau style.

The Princess Gloria was built in the Bolle shipyard in Derben near Magdeburg .

The ship covered a total of 1700 km from Derben to Regensburg in three weeks. The journey brought the Princess Gloria first on the Elbe via Hamburg and Cuxhaven into the open sea and then over the IJsselmeer into the Dutch canal system and from there into the Rhine or the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal .

The ship was christened on April 12, 2013 by Gloria von Thurn und Taxis . Already on the christening voyage, contact was made with Alfons Schuhbeck , who from then on cooked more often on the "Schubeck auf Schiff" theme tour.

particularities

The view from the interior of the water surface and the surrounding area is distinguished by the fact that one appears to be directly on the water through the large, elongated windows that reach down to the floor. The Bolle shipyard already had experience with these elongated windows, as they had already installed such windows on the Sanssouci ship , which is used in the Potsdam area.
