The Yverdon-Sport FC is a Swiss football club from Yverdon-les-Bains in canton Vaud . The club plays in the Promotion League , the third highest Swiss league in Switzerland.
history
The club was founded on July 1, 1948 through a merger of FC Yverdon (founded in 1897), FC Concordia and the club White Star and plays in the Stade Municipal.
The football club from French-speaking Switzerland rose in 2005 for the third time in the highest Swiss league, the Super League . The Vaudois won the championship in the Challenge League and were thus qualified for promotion to the highest Swiss league. That was the 3rd ascent after 1993 and 1999 .
Due to the higher television money there and better earning opportunities in marketing, the club planned for the 2005/06 season with a budget of 3.4 to 4 million francs. The team rose again after only one season in 2006.
In the 2016/2017 it was possible to advance to the Promotion League as 1st league champion.
Women's football
The club's women's team has played in the top division, the National League A , since the 2006/07 season and has successfully established itself there. It split off in 2007 as an independent club FC Yverdon Féminin . In the 2009/10 season, he became the first team from French-speaking Switzerland to win the Swiss Women's Cup since 1977.
