Fañch Favé

François "Fañch" Favé (born December 18, 1905 in Plounéventer , † March 17, 1951 in Lesneven ) was a French cyclist .

Fañch Favé made his debut as a cyclist in 1923, and from 1928 to 1938 he rode as a professional . In 1928 and 1931 he started in the Tour de France , but gave up both times during the course of the race. In 1930 he became French junior road racing champion . The following year he won the first edition of the Grand Prix Ouest France and in 1933 the Grand Prix Le Télégramme de Brest , in which he again finished third in 1935.

Favé mainly competed in cycling races in his homeland, Brittany . He was also the local hero on the cycle tracks in Brittany, especially in Brest , Lesneven and Landerneau .

After the end of his cycling career, he ran a bicycle shop in Lesneven. He died at the age of 45 years to cancer .

The Lesneven cycle track now bears the name of Fañch Favé.
