Fabian Kommerell

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fabian Kommerell (* around 1504 probably in Tübingen ; † August 6, 1594 in Tübingen ) was a baker in Tübingen. He was also a councilor .

Life

Fabian Kommerell was probably a son of Johannes Gomerel from Pforzheim (* before 1465), who was possibly identical with the standard bearer of the Tübingen troops attested as Kommerell in the campaign (1514) against the poor Konrad . It would mean that Johannes settled in Tübingen well before 1514. Fabian Kommerell was married twice. He had two sons with his first wife († probably 1555), whose name is not known. His second wife, whom he married at Easter 1556, was the young widow Anna Möglin nee. Seckler (1st marriage on Easter 1553 with Hans Möglin from Kirchheim uT), daughter of Hans Seckler from Lustnau . He had nine children with her, three of whom died in childhood. There were two sons of the six remaining children.

Kommerell lived in Tübingen all his life. He was a citizen of the city (clearly documented only in 1592), where he worked as a baker. Since he was respected, as can be seen in the marriages of his daughters Anna and Agnes with educated men, he was accepted into the council as a court relative. With his four sons he was the founder of the later influential Tübingen line of the Kommerell family.
