resume

Fabian Lenz was born in Münster. His parents were artists and hippies who raised their children to be anti-authoritarian . The family lived on a Kotten in the Münster area.

His father, Otto Lenz , was a professor of art education at the University of Education in Münster and died in the early 1980s. His mother worked as an art teacher and still paints surrealist works today .

Lenz has three siblings. His brother is the DJ and music producer Maximilian Lenz, known as WestBam . His sister Seraphina Lenz is a visual artist.

Career

Fabian Lenz has been a DJ since 1984. In the following year he founded the record label Low Spirit with his brother Maximilian, producer Klaus Jankuhn , Sandra Molzahn and William Röttger . One of the most successful artists of the new label was Marusha in the early 1990s , who was in a relationship with Lenz at the time.

From 1988 Lenz released various singles and EPs on Low Spirit, most of which he produced together with Klaus Jankuhn. As a remixer , he made new arrangements for Raver's Nature ( Somebody Scream , 1996) and Genlog ( More Music , 1998).

In 1991, Lenz had the idea of supporting the radio station DT64 , which was then about to end, with a rave and was thus the initiator of the first Mayday in the Halle Weißensee in Berlin .

At the end of the 1990s, Lenz largely withdrew from music production and working as a DJ. After the Berlin Love Parade 2001 was no longer classified as a political demonstration, the management of the organizing Love Parade GmbH was also replaced. Lenz, who was considered a man from the techno scene, became the new managing director of Love Parade GmbH. At the end of 2004 Lenz resigned as managing director of Love Parade GmbH. The task wore him down: "You stepped on the spot".

In May 2007 Lenz reopened the Berlin techno club Tresor together with Dimitri Hegemann .

In 2009 and 2010 Lenz organized the event called "Berlin, Beats & Boats", at which techno parties took place on excursion boats.

Together with the photographer Sascha Kramer, Fabian Lenz runs the Trust Bar in Berlin .
