Fabrizio Bosso (born November 5, 1973 in Turin ) is an Italian jazz trumpeter .

Live and act

Bosso started playing the trumpet at the age of five and had lessons from his father. At fifteen he completed his studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin . During his school days he discovered jazz , played in a big band and in smaller ensembles. In 1990 he received a scholarship to St. Mary's College in Washington. The following year he took courses with Pierre Thibaud in Saluzzo . In 1993 he worked as a member of the Paese degli specchi orchestra a . a. with George Russell , Dave Liebman and Steve Coleman . In the following years he toured internationally and played with musicians such as Gianni Basso , Enrico Pieranunzi , Emanuele Cisi , Gabriele Mirabassi , Stefano Di Battista , Slide Hampton , Randy Brecker and Steve Lacy . In 1997 he played with his quintet, which included Rosario Giuliani and Salvatore Bonafede , his debut Fast Flight for the Red Records label . At Blue Note Records in 2007 his album was released You've Changed . Together with Giovanni Guidi , he also leads the quintet Revolutionary Brotherhood , which includes Aaron Burnett on tenor saxophone and in the rhythm section Eric Wheeler and Joe Dyson .

Prizes and awards

In 1994 he won the Summertime in Jazz competition with his quintet . In 1999 he was named best new talent by Musica Jazz magazine , and in 2002 he was awarded the Italian Django d'Or in this category.
