Fabrizio Hayer (born May 11, 1969 in Wiesbaden ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
The midfield technician "Diego" Hayer spent most of his career with the then second division club 1. FSV Mainz 05 . After seven years in the 05 youth department and four U-18 international matches in 1986, Hayer moved to the A-youth team at 1. FC Kaiserslautern , from which he returned to Mainz in 1990 via Karlsruher SC and Rot-Weiss Essen . Mainz was promoted to the 2nd division under coach Robert Jung . In the promotion round, the competitor Rot-Weiss Frankfurt Jürgen Klopp was noticed and, like Hayer, Gernot Ruof , Aaron Biagioli and Steffen Herzberger, was brought to the Bruchweg Stadium. In the "mammoth round" 1992/93 - through the integrated clubs of the former GDR association, the second division had 24 participants, i.e. 46 game days - Hayer completed 44 games in the central midfield and scored eight goals. Before the round, Josip Kuže and the experienced midfielder Željko Buvač had come to Bruchweg from relegated Rot-Weiß Erfurt . Hayer initially played until 1994 and after three years at SV Waldhof Mannheim from 1997 to 1999 for Mainz 05.
Under coach Ulrich Stielike , SV Waldhof and Hayer missed promotion to the Bundesliga in 1994/95 , one point behind Fortuna Düsseldorf in fifth place. He had scored nine goals in 31 league games. Together with Michael Zeyer and Norbert Hofmann , he usually formed the combination safe Waldhof midfield. After the relegation season 1996/97 - Hayer had scored seven goals in 30 games and at Waldhof three coaches Klaus Schlappner , Günter Sebert and Uwe Rapolder had tried in vain to keep the class - Hayer returned to Mainz for the 1997/98 season.
From 1997 to 1999 the technician completed 50 league games for Mainz 05 in midfield under the coaches Reinhard Saftig , Dietmar Constantini and Wolfgang Frank , in which he scored two goals. In the first year, 1997/98, it was about staying up, in the second year the seventh place was occupied.
At Rot-Weiß Oberhausen he achieved the best placement in his debut year 1999/00 with the sixth place. After four years with a total of 72 league games and five goals, Hayer moved to the regional league at Preußen Münster , and continued to SSV Jahn Regensburg during the 2004/05 winter break . In total, Hayer completed 358 second division games in which he scored 52 goals. He played twice in the Bundesliga for KSC. In the German Cup he got 19 times used (three goals). Hayer last played in the fall of 2005 before he was out on a long-term basis due to a knee injury. His contract in Regensburg was not extended. After the end of his career, FC Ingolstadt 04 offered him a position as assistant coach, but Hayer turned down this offer.
He and his wife now run a hotel-restaurant in Heidesheim am Rhein (Rheinhessen).
