The Fadensattel is a pass with 1210 m on the northern roof of the Schneeberg massif , west of Puchberg am Schneeberg .
Location and landscape
The top of the pass connects the thread walls , the northern eruptions of the Schneeberg ( 2076 m ), with the Dürren Leiten (approx. 1244 m ) in the north, which then leads to the Großenberg ( 1188 m ) and the Dürren Wand ( Schober 1213 m , Katharinenschlag 1222 m ) .
According to Trimmel , the Leiten drought is already part of the drought wall of the Gutenstein Alps ; the saddle forms the border to the Rax-Schneeberg group .
tourism
The saddle can be reached from the valley town of Losenheim via a hiking trail on the forest road or with the four-seater chairlift, from Putzenhof in the furthest valley of the Piesting (in the ÖK50 incorrectly called Kalter Gang , municipality of Gutenstein ) also via an easy hiking trail. Coming from the Dürren Wand, the Austrian long-distance hiking trail 01 (Northern Alpine Trail), here also the Lower Austrian state circular hiking trail (NLW), runs over the saddle to the Schneeberg ( Fadensteig ) . The northern Grafensteig leads over the northeast flank of the Schneeberg via Rieshütte and Bürklehütte to Berghaus Hochschneeberg at the rack railway. In addition, a path leads over the northwest flank, Kuhschneeberg and the Schnellerwagsteig down to the Singerin on the upper Schwarza .
The former Sparbacher Hütte (private, 1248 m ), the Edelweißhütte (OeAV, 1235 m ) and the Almreserlhaus (private, 1222 m ) are on the saddle .
The Fadensattel is the highest point of the so-called Salamander ski area . The four-seater chairlift and two ski lifts belong to the operator of the Schneeberg cog railway , the NÖSBB.
To the east of the Fadensattels is the Fadengraben , over which the Römerweg leads.
