Faridkot ( Punjabi : ਫ਼ਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ) is a district in the Indian state of Punjab .
The district is located in the Faridkot Division, founded in 1996 . Previously, the district was assigned to the Firozpur division. It covers an area of 1475.7 km². The administrative seat is the city of the same name Faridkot .

The population is 617,508 (2011 census), 10 years earlier it was 550,892. The gender ratio is 890 women for 1000 men. The literacy rate is 69.55% (74.60% for men, 63.91% for women). 76.08% of the population are followers of Sikhism , 22.89% of Hinduism .
