Mansa ( Punjabi : ਮਾਨਸਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ) is a district in the Indian state of Punjab .
The district was detached on April 13, 1992 from what was then the Bathinda district . He belongs to the Faridkot division . It covers an area of 2198 km². The administrative seat is the city of the same name Mansa . The district is located in the so-called "cotton belt" of Punjab. In the extreme south, the Ghaggar River crosses the district. The most widely spoken and official language is Punjabi .

The population was 769,751 in the 2011 census, 10 years earlier it was 688,758. This corresponds to an increase of 11.8%. The gender ratio was 883 women for 1,000 men. The literacy rate was 61.83% (67.31% for men, 55.68% for women). 77.75% of the population were Sikhs , 20.34% Hindu .
