The Farma is a 34 km long river in the Tuscany region of Italy, which crosses the provinces of Grosseto and Siena from west to east and flows into the Merse as a right tributary at Pian di Rocca (district of Monticiano ) .
course
The river rises in the range of hills Colline Metallifere approx. 11 km south of Montieri (Province of Grosseto) and 9 km northwest of Roccastrada north of the district Roccatederighi . The river leaves the municipality of Montieri after about 3 km and enters that of Roccastrada, where it stays for 16 km. It flows through the nature reserve Riserva naturale La Pietra and reaches Torniella (district of Roccastrada). It then re-enters the province of Siena, where it remains in the municipality of Monticiano for 15 km. In the natural parks Riserva naturale Belagaio and Riserva Naturale Farma , he returns to the province of Grosseto, where he spends the last 4 km in the municipality of Civitella Paganico . Here it first passes the district of Bagni di Petriolo (Monticiano, is the border river between Monticiano (SI) and Civitella Paganico (GR)) with its thermal baths , shortly afterwards it flows into the Merse as a right tributary and with it a few meters later into the Ombrone to flow.
