Farra d'Alpago is a fraction of the Italian municipality ( comune ) Alpago , which was created on February 23, 2016 from the merger of the three municipalities Farra d'Alpago, Puos d'Alpago and Pieve d'Alpago . Farra d'Alpago has 2639 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2015).

The patron saints are Philip and James, son of Alphaeus (May 3rd).

The place is about 12 kilometers east-southeast of Belluno on the Lago di Santa Croce .

The hamlets Pich , Campon and Pian Osteria belonging to the village are settlements of the Cimbri people . The Cimbrian language , an Upper German dialect, has been extinct in this region for several years.

traffic

The Autostrada A27 (Venice to the border) and the Strada Statale 51 di Alemagna from San Vendemiano to Toblach run through the local area . The station of Santa Croce , a district, is on the railway line Ponte nelle Alpi - Conegliano .
