biography

Fat Pat was from Houston, where he attended the same high school as K-Rino . Together with his brother Big Hawk and DJ Screw he formed the group Dead End Alliance . The three hip-hop musicians were also organized in the Screwed Up Click , which included a large number of rappers, including Big Pokey , Big Moe , Lil Keke , Z-Ro , Trae and Lil 'Flip .

As a solo artist, Pat received a contract with the 1997 founded music label Wreckshop Records . For this, the rapper recorded his first album Ghetto Dreams . Shortly before the album was released, Fat Pat was shot dead on February 3, 1998 after being paid a fee. Ghetto Dreams was released on March 17, 1998 via Wreckshop Records . The publication was celebrated as part of a so-called "release party". Various hip-hop musicians such as Scarface , Willie D, Lil 'Keke, DJ Screw, The Botany Boys and South Park Mexican took part in this. In the same year, the second solo album Throwed in da Game and the album of the Screwed Up Click Screwed for Life were released via Wreckshop Records .

In 1999 the Texan rapper Lil 'Troy Sittin' Fat Down South released their debut album . From this the song Wanna Be a Baller with Fat Pat and Big Hawk was released as a single. In the US singles charts, this reached position 70. In 2001, a best-of album Fat Pats followed on Wreckshop Records . Three more album releases came out through the Screwed Up Click record company .

Fat Pat's brother Big Hawk was also murdered in 2006. A number of the members of the Screwed Up Click died early, for example DJ Screw died in 2000 of a codeine overdose and Big Moe of a heart attack in 2007. Rapper Paul Michael Slayton, known as Paul Wall , was named in honor of Fat Pats his son William Patrick Slayton, born in 2006. After his death at the age of 27, Fat Pat was added to the extended circle of Klub 27 , the group of musicians who died at the age of 27.
