Abdul-Fatai Alashe (born October 21, 1993 in Southfield ) is an American football player who is mostly used as a midfielder . He is currently under contract with the San José Earthquakes .
Career
Youth and amateur football
Alashe played for his university 's college team, the Michigan State Spartans , while at Michigan State University . In 86 games he scored eight goals and prepared eight more. At the same time he also played in the Premier Development League . 2013 for Reading United and 2014 for the Portland Timbers U-23 .
Club career
Alashe was chosen as the fourth pick in the first round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by the San José Earthquakes on January 15, 2015 . After receiving a professional contract there, he made his competitive debut on March 7, 2015 in the 1-0 defeat against FC Dallas . He scored his first goal in the MLS two weeks later on March 22, 2015 in a 2-1 win over Chicago Fire . His goal to the 1-0 lead in this game was also the first league goal in the recently opened Earthquakes Stadium .
