Gregory Martin Garza Early (born August 16, 1991 in Grapevine , Texas ) is an American football player .

Player career

Youth and college

Garza was active in his youth for the São Paulo FC in Brazil and the youth football club Dallas Texans. In 2008 he moved to Portugal to the Sporting Lisbon youth team .

DG Estoril Praia

After playing for the U-19 of Sporting Lisbon for some time, he was not given a professional contract there. In 2010 Garza moved to GD Estoril Praia .

Club Tijuana

On December 21, 2011, Garza signed a contract with the Mexican first division club Tijuana .

Garza in the MLS

For season 2017 Garza initially spent a year on loan to the newly formed MLS - Franchise Atlanta United . In his first season he was used 26 times in the regular season and scored three goals. He was also elected to the MLS All-Star Team that played against Real Madrid . For season 2018 Garza was finally firmly committed. In his second MLS season, due to injury, he only made eleven appearances in the regular season and five appearances in the playoffs, at the end of which he and his team won the championship.

For the 2019 season, Garza moved within the MLS to the new FC Cincinnati franchise .

National team

Garza is a Mexican citizen and a US citizen because his father is from Mexico, but he was born in the USA. He made his debut for the United States national soccer team on September 3, 2014 in a friendly against the Czech Republic. He had previously been active for the US U-20 team .
