World Lacrosse (until May 2019 FIL; Federation of International Lacrosse; until August 2008 ILF; International Lacrosse Federation ) was founded in 1974 and has since contributed significantly to the promotion and further development of men's lacrosse around the world. In August 2008, the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) and the International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations (IFWLA) were merged to form the Federation of International Lacrosse.

In Germany, World Lacrosse is represented by the German Lacrosse Association (DLaxV).
