Felix Luz (born January 18, 1982 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a former German soccer player who was most recently under contract with the regional division 1. FC Saarbrücken .

Career

He was twice a player in the second team of VfB Stuttgart and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the Regionalliga Süd . From July 2005 to December 2006, Luz was active at FC St. Pauli . From January 2007 the striker played for FC Augsburg .

In December 2005 Felix Luz scored the goal of the month with an interim 2-2 in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup against Hertha BSC . In the following election for Goal of the Year 2005, the goal took second place.

For the 2006/07 season he actually wanted to move to 1. FC Köln, relegated to the Bundesliga . According to press reports, the transfer failed because of the transfer fee required by FC St. Pauli. During the winter break of the same season, Luz moved to the second division club FC Augsburg . He contributed to this change with a voluntary wage waiver, which can be seen as a share in the transfer fee. In the second half of the season he was used there regularly, but in the 2007/08 season he only played the role of the joker and was usually only substituted in in the final stages of his 13 appearances.

After this season he moved to the league competitor Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , where he only made 16 missions due to injury. His contract in Oberhausen expired on June 30, 2011, and since then he has kept fit at VfB Stuttgart II .

After speculation about a move to the Hungarian soccer cup winner Kecskeméti TE and a trial training session with the English second division club Leeds United , Luz completed a trial training session with the Vietnamese V.League 1 club SHB Đà Nẵng in October and was able to impress the coach with his headball strength. So he signed a two-year contract at the end of October. However, since V.League 1 had already ended, he did not play a competitive game for SHB Đà Nẵng in 2011. On December 31, 2011, however, the contract was terminated after two months by mutual agreement, as Luz had suffered from a knee injury since he switched.

After a month without a club, he signed a contract with the Belgian first division team KVC Westerlo until the end of the 2011/12 season at the end of January . However, the club had an option to extend the contract early for another year. There Luz played a league game on February 4, 2012 against SV Zulte-Waregem after a nine-month break when he came on for Jeanvion Yulu-Matondo in the 77th minute . However, the option was not drawn after relegation at the end of May 2012.

At the end of August 2012, Luz moved back to Germany. He signed a contract with third division club Wacker Burghausen until the end of the 2012/13 season .

For the 2013/14 season , Luz moved to third division promoted SV Elversberg , where he signed a two-year contract. With the sports association, he went back to the regional league after only one season. The striker then moved to the relegated 1. FC Saarbrücken . On June 30, 2016, Luz ended his professional career with the expiry of his contract with 1. FC Saarbrücken.
