resume

Felix Menzel was born in Neuruppin and grew up in Berlin . There he started wrestling at SV Luftfahrt Wrestling Berlin in 1994. In 2002 he switched to the sports school in Luckenwalde to practice competitive sports there. The local sports club has always been known as a wrestling stronghold.

In 2006 Felix Menzel made his breakthrough and won the European title in junior freestyle wrestling. His coach at that time was Alexander Leipold , who was the last title winner at international freestyle championships before that.

In 2007 Felix Menzel passed his Abitur and is fighting in the 1st Bundesliga team of the 1st Luckenwalder Sports Club. After completing his community service at the Leipzig Olympic Training Center , he began a dual course of study at Finanz Informatik in Berlin as a Bachelor of Science in business informatics . Since this course was very time-consuming and the theoretical phases take place in Hameln at the Weserbergland University of Applied Sciences , Menzel had to cancel his international assignments and training measures in the national team in 2009. As a result, the amount of training decreased. Nevertheless, after his national championship titles from 2007 to 2009, Felix Menzel also won the German men's championship in 2010. In 2011 he successfully completed his bachelor's degree.

Until 2015 Felix Menzel was part of the Bundesliga team of 1. LSC and is one of the athletes with the most appearances there.

Due to the closure of the Finanz Informatik branch, which also affected the place of work in Berlin, Felix Menzel changed his employer. In 2013 he became IT security officer for the Teltow-Fläming district . As a part-time job, he completed his Master of Arts degree in project and process management at the German Open Business School in Berlin in 2015 .
