The Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary is a 194  acres (0.8  square kilometers ) wide reserve in Edgartown in the state of Massachusetts of the United States . It is administered by the Massachusetts Audubon Society .

Protected area

Located on Martha's Vineyard , the sanctuary provides visitors with a total of 4  mi (6.4  km ) of hiking trails, 1 mi (1.6 km) of which are barrier-free . With forests, meadows, lakes, a salt marsh and a coastal strip, it offers diverse habitats for a wide variety of animal and plant species.

However, bird protection is in the foreground. In particular, toothed quail , snipe , red-throated warbler , marsh swallow and osprey can be found in the reserve . Two nesting boxes for barn owls were also set up, which can be observed using a webcam . In the butterfly garden , which was newly created in 2009, you can see butterflies in all stages of development, as well as hummingbirds .
