Felix Zwoch

Felix Zwoch (born October 8, 1952 in Eutin ; † February 10, 2014 in Berlin ) was a German architecture critic , urban planning critic and publicist .

Life

Felix Zwoch, son of a Bonn civil servant, studied architecture and urban planning at RWTH Aachen University and also worked with Nikolaus Kuhnert , Günther Uhlig and others at Arch + , a magazine for theory-oriented architecture. In 1978 he finished his studies and became an assistant at the chair for urban planning at the Technical University of Braunschweig . From 1981 he worked for the architecture magazine Bauwelt , later also for Stadtbauwelt . In 1990 he became deputy editor-in-chief, from 2002 to 2010 he was editor-in-chief of Bauwelt and Stadtbauwelt.

He was particularly committed to the world of urban construction and stimulated the discourse on urban planning issues in a globalized world; With many renowned authors from the respective cities, he has published documentaries on large cities, in particular on Lodz , Bucharest , Algiers , Detroit , Magnitogorsk , Hong Kong , Tbilisi and Marseille .

Felix Zwoch died on February 10, 2014 in Berlin.
