Ferdinand Auth

Ferdinand Auth (born August 26, 1914 in Niederkalbach ; † December 27, 1995 there ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Ferdinand Auth attended the state building school after primary school and a bricklayer apprenticeship and became a master bricklayer. In 1936 he passed his state examination as a structural engineer. Between 1936 and 1945 he did military service and was wounded in the war.

After the war, he worked as a technical employee at the Hessian State Building Administration from 1946. From 1954 to 1960 he was chairman of the works council committee of the Hessian state building administration. 1960 to 1962 he was a member of the main staff council at the Hessian Ministry of Finance.

politics

Ferdinand Auth had been a member of the SPD since 1929 and worked there on various boards. From 1958 to 1969 he was chairman of the SPD sub-district of Fulda and since 1969 a member of the SPD district committee for Hesse-North.

In terms of local politics, he was a municipal representative in Niederkalbach from 1946 to 1952 and there from 1952 to 1972 as honorary mayor and, after 1972, as mayor. from 1952 to 1968 he was district councilor of the Fulda district and from 1968 a member of the district council where he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

From December 1, 1962 to November 30, 1974 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament. In 1963 he decided not to move into the Bundestag as a successor.

His uncle Joseph Auth (1887–1961) was also active in the SPD and from 1947 to 1948 head of the city council in Frankfurt am Main .
