Ferdinand Eggmann

Karl Alexander Ferdinand Eggmann (born August 30, 1827 in Wurzach ; † December 4, 1913 in Bergatreute ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and a Württemberg politician.

Life

Eggmann was the son of the von Schaesberg - Tannheim rent office official Josef Fidel Eggmann from Leutkirch im Allgäu and Maria Anna Lang. Raised in Wurzach, he studied theology at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen from 1845 to 1849 . He was ordained a priest on August 10, 1850.

In the service of the Roman Catholic Church, he held the following offices:

  • Professor at the Cantonal School of St. Gallen , 1851
  • Curate administrator in Crailsheim , 1855
  • Chaplain to the holy mountain in Wurzach, 1859 (at times also institute catechist and city parish administrator in Wurzach)
  • Pastor in Frittlingen , 1866
  • City pastor in Riedlingen , 1880
  • Pastor in Bergatreute, 1884 (dean of the district 1897 and district school inspector of Waldsee)

In 1907 he reached retirement as senior church councilor .

From 1877 to 1901 Eggmann was a member of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament for the constituency of Leutkirch , initially for the state party and from 1895 for the center . There he was a member of the legitimation, elementary school and economic commission . In the state elections in 1900 he ran unsuccessfully as an unofficial candidate against Nikolaus Braunger , whom the Leutkirch Center Party had put up as a candidate after a ballot.
