Ferdinand Herbst

Ferdinand Herbst (born February 20, 1890 in Ansbach , † August 22, 1950 in Bad Nauheim ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Herbst studied in Bielefeld , Erlangen , Halle (Saale) and Munich . He was wounded during the First World War and later worked as a military pastor in Berlin . In 1917 he went to the Netherlands and built up the German congregation of The Hague and Antwerp there. From 1936 he worked at the Gustav-Adolf-Werk in Leipzig and in 1939 became its general secretary . After the Second World War he tried to rebuild the plant and held the first meeting of the plant in Fulda .
