Ferenc Mehl (* 1984 in Rottweil ) is a German jazz musician ( drums , composition ).

Live and act

Mehl, who took part in international jazz workshops with Wolfgang Haffner and Wolfgang Lackerschmidt as a teenager in 2000 and 2001 , was accepted into the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Jazz Orchestra in 2002. After further lessons with Meinhard "Obi" Jenne , he studied drums and pedagogy at the music academies in Leipzig and Amsterdam. He completed his training with stays in New York and Berlin. Mehl gained experience in the federal jazz orchestra and in collaboration with Claus Stötter , Rudi Mahall , Nicolas Simion , Steffen Schorn , Nils Wogram and Bernd Konrad .

Together with his brother Magnus Mehl , he leads the Ferenc and Magnus Mehl Quartet , for which he also composes. He has released three CDs with this band to date. He can also be heard on albums by Roots Südwest .

Flour won first prize at the International Jimmy Woode Award (Italy, 2008); In 2014 he received a scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation.
