Feriköy SK is a Turkish football club of Istanbul neighborhood Feriköy from the district of Şişli . The club played a total of nine seasons in the Süper Lig in the 1950s and 1960s and is 39th in the all-time table of the Süper Lig .

history

Feriköy SK had two predecessor clubs, both of which had a short existence due to a lack of interest. These two clubs were Feriköy İclaliye Kulübü, founded in 1919, and Feriköy İdman Yurdu, founded in 1923 . In 1927 Feriköy Duatepe İdman Yurdu was founded , another club with today's club colors red and white. This third association received a lot of support from the district population and quickly became one of the district symbols. So in 1947 the club name was changed to Feriköy Gençlik Kulübü (short: Feriköy GK) and later to the current form, Feriköy Spor Kulübü (short: Feriköy SK).

In 1954 the club took part in the Istanbul amateur leagues for the first time. In 1956 they won the championship of İstanbul 2. Profesyonel Ligi . In the summer of 1959, the club qualified for participation in the newly introduced national top division, today's Süper Lig . Here the club was one of the permanent representatives for nine years and was a fixture in Turkish football at the time. In the summer of 1968 they rose to the second highest division, today's TFF 1. Lig . Reinforced by the founding of numerous Anatolian teams, which increasingly strengthened regionally, the club lost its importance. After Feriköy was relegated to the 3rd division in 1973, he was completely forgotten and since then has had the character of a district club. In 1982/83 they experienced a brief recovery and made it into the TFF 2nd Lig, but immediately rose again.

The club has been playing in the regional amateur league since summer 2000.
