Fernand Auguste Henri Marius Vandernotte (born July 12, 1902 in Tillières , † January 20, 1990 in Saint-Nazaire ) was a French rower .

biography

Fernand Vandernotte won the bronze medal in two without a helmsman at the European Championships in Liège in 1930 . Two years later he competed at the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles together with his brother Marcel Vandernotte in two without a helmsman . However, they were eliminated in the preliminary run. At the European Championships in 1933 the brother couple won the bronze medal in a pair with a helmsman and in 1934 in Lucerne they won the silver medal in a four with a helmsman .

Fernand also started again with his brother at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin . This time, however, together with Jean Cosmat and Marcel Chauvigné in a four with a helmsman . His twelve-year-old son Noël acted as the helmsman . The crew won the bronze medal behind the German and Swiss boats.
