Tillières is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Sèvremoine with 1,867 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire .

With effect from December 15, 2015, the municipalities of Le Longeron , Montfaucon-Montigné , La Renaudière , Roussay , Saint-André-de-la-Marche , Saint-Crespin-sur-Moine , Saint-Germain-sur-Moine , Saint- Macaire-en-Mauges , Tillières and Torfou from the former Communauté de communes de Moine et Sèvre merged to form a Commune nouvelle with the name Sèvremoine. The municipality of Tillières belonged to the Arrondissement of Cholet and the canton of Saint-Macaire-en-Mauges (until 2015: Montfaucon-Montigné ).

economy

In addition to agriculture with cattle breeding and arable farming, wine is also grown here on a large scale . The vineyards are in the protected designations of origin of Muscadet , Muscadet Sèvre et Maine and Gros Plant du Pays Nantais .
