Montfaucon-Montigné is a commune Déléguée in the French community Sèvremoine with 2,325 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Montois .

geography

Montfaucon-Montigné is located about 19 kilometers west-northwest of Cholet in the Mauges countryside on the Moine River . The development of traffic takes place through the former Route nationale 762 (today's D762).

history

On February 29, 2000, the former municipality was founded from the previously independent municipalities of Montfaucon-sur-Moine and Montigné-sur-Moine .

With effect from December 15, 2015, the municipalities of Le Longeron , Montfaucon-Montigné , La Renaudière , Roussay , Saint-André-de-la-Marche , Saint-Crespin-sur-Moine , Saint-Germain-sur-Moine , Saint- Macaire-en-Mauges , Tillières and Torfou from the former Communauté de communes de Moine et Sèvre merged to form a Commune nouvelle with the name Sèvremoine. The municipality of Montfaucon-Montigné belonged to the Arrondissement Cholet and the canton of Saint-Macaire-en-Mauges (until 2015: Montfaucon-Montigné ).
