Feteira is a Portuguese town and municipality on the island of Faial , which belongs to the Azores archipelago .

The coast near Feteira is mostly steep coast, which is clearly visible from the Miradouro da Lajinha viewpoint - here, a natural arch in a rock formation was created by the erosion of the sea. A number of rivers and streams run through the community, five bridges cross them here.

History and sights

Church Igreja ao Divino Espírito Santo

The center of the town, which has a small port, is the Igreja ao Espíritu Santo church with a tower completed in 1864, which was first mentioned in 1568 and expanded in 1824. The church is now a listed building.

Next to the church is the smaller Holy Spirit chapel, Império do Divino Espírito Santo da Caridade da Feteira .

The Ponta Furada peninsula not far from Feteira is a popular destination for anglers.
