The Striesen fire station is a listed building in Dresden-Striesen that has been used as a fire station without interruption since 1907 . It forms the fire station 3 in Dresden .

The building, located at Schlüterstraße 39, roughly at the junction with Kipsdorfer Straße, is in the south of Striesen, Dresden's most populous district, near the border with Gruna .

The fire station is a typical functional building designed by the city building councilor Hans Erlwein , according to whose plans it was built in 1906/07. It is richly structured, consists of different structures and is characterized by a diverse roof landscape. A comprehensive reconstruction took place from July 2002 to December 2003. In addition to the emergency services, it also houses the central hose store of the Dresden fire brigade with laundry and workshop. The building has parking spaces for various vehicles and emergency services.

In 2008, a modern rescue station was built on the site , which until then was also housed in the Erlweinbau. Five vehicles are stationed here.

The Striesen fire station covers an area of ​​69 square kilometers and extends over large parts of the eastern and south-eastern Dresden city area. On the left (old town) side of the Elbe there are the districts of Blasewitz , Leuben and Prohlis as well as the Gostritz district , on the right side of the Elbe there are Hosterwitz / Pillnitz , Rochwitz , Wachwitz , Loschwitz , Weißer Hirsch , Bühlau and the Schönfeld highlands .
