The fire brigade Neubrandenburg consists of one professional and two volunteer fire brigades .

Professional fire brigade

The professional fire brigade provides defensive fire protection in 24-hour operation and the rescue service in 12 or 8-hour operation. The guard train consists of two rescue group vehicles 20/16, a turntable ladder with cage 23-12, a command vehicle (C service), a command vehicle (B service), an ambulance and an ambulance vehicle. The shift thickness is 17 emergency services and one emergency doctor per shift. The professional fire brigade was established from May to August 1945 and emerged from the Neubrandenburg volunteer fire brigade. The first head of the professional fire brigade was Erich Grollmus.

Fire protection

Fire protection is ensured around the clock by a fire extinguishing train consisting of five emergency vehicles with a total of 15 emergency services.

Ambulance service

The professional fire brigade has been involved in the rescue service since 1992. An ambulance and an emergency doctor's vehicle are available around the clock, the emergency doctor is provided by the local clinic, as well as by four emergency doctors who are employees of the professional fire department. Another ambulance is at the DRK and the Medical Service Neubrandenburg.

Head of the fire department

The head of the fire brigade has been Frank Bühring since September 21, 2007, replacing fire chief Dieter Behrends, who had retired.

Volunteer firefighter

At the plenary meeting of the men's gymnastics club on September 25, 1866, the Neubrandenburg volunteer fire brigade was founded, the first fire chief was Kaufmann Woellert. The volunteer fire brigade Neubrandenburg consists of two weirs, each with a guard location. The volunteer fire brigade Neubrandenburg city center at Ziegelbergstrasse 50 shares the location with the professional fire brigade. The second location is in the east of Neubrandenburg at Markscheiderweg 13.

Youth fire brigade

The youth fire brigade of the inner city fire brigade, as it currently exists, was founded on June 1, 1991. The youth fire brigade of the Oststadt fire brigade was founded on September 18, 1993. The origin of the youth fire brigade in Neubrandenburg goes back to October 1964, with the establishment of the "Pionierbrandschutzaktiv", which was looked after by a colleague of the volunteer fire brigade.
