The Fietsallee on the north channel is about 100 km long cycle track at North Channel in the Dutch-German border region. It connects the two rivers Rhine and Maas and is based on the historical course of the North Canal. It was created for Euroga 2002 and was chosen as the 2009 cycle route in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Particularly noteworthy is the Euroga adventure bridge at km 19.3. Here people and bicycles with muscle power can be transferred over the Niers , which the North Canal would have crossed at this point.

Route marking

The route is marked on the German side by signposts ; also by a light turquoise line on the floor, which is divided like a measuring tape every 10 meters by a line, every 50 meters by an enlarged marking, which should represent the water of the canal. Alternatively, steles of the same color were set up at 10 or 50 m intervals on the side of the path or hung on lamp posts. The marking gives the impression of an oversized measuring tape.

In addition to the turquoise-colored markings, there are red-and-white-striped steles at special points, which are intended to remind of the planned course of the canal and the associated engineering services in the canal construction. The red and white steles are intended to be reminiscent of measuring rods.

There are no special signposts in the Netherlands; the light turquoise steles are only set up at a distance of 50 m. In the city center of Venlo and thus on the last section of the route to the Meuse, miniature steles are attached to the lamp posts.
