Route

The Erft Cycle Path begins at the source of the Erft in the German-Belgian nature park Nordeifel near Holzmülheim and initially runs on a road with little traffic. There is a separate cycle path between Schönau and Bad Münstereifel . From there it leads to Euskirchen , where the Rhineland Nature Park begins. From here, the Erft cycle path shares the route with the moated castle route . After about 13 kilometers you will reach Weilerswist . The course follows the Erft in a north-west direction via Erftstadt , where the Kaiser route is added between Liblar and Lechenich (Gemeindeverbindungsstrasse / Erft) . It continues via Kerpen , Bergheim and Bedburg . In the Kaster district , the Erft cycle path bends to the northeast and crosses the administrative district border between Cologne and Düsseldorf .
