Matt LeBlanc

Matt LeBlanc plays himself

Matt LeBlanc (played by himself ) is an actor and was named by the broadcaster as the lead actor on the Pucks! engaged, where he plays the character Coach Lyman . LeBlanc is wealthy and charming, but also arrogant. He has two children with his ex-wife Diane, who divorced him after cheating on her several times. He lives in a beach house and owns an airplane , a boat, and a collection of cars including an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione . He is friends with Sean, although the friendship briefly breaks down after Matt has sex with Beverly. The relationship with the same is initially distant and hostile, but improves over the course of the series.

In season two, he begins an affair with Jamie, his boss's wife. At the end of season two, she separates from her husband and the two begin a relationship that ends after Matt cheated on her with Dawn, Morning's daughter. LeBlanc has a stalker, Labia, who has been chasing him for 15 years. He met her after granting her a wish through the organization Make-A-Wish . The stalker endangers his relationship with his children, as his ex-wife sees them as a danger to the children and therefore threatens to have her custody withdrawn if he does not get this under control.

In season three, Andrew Lesley tries to poach him for his own series, which Matt also wants, but cannot do due to contractual obligations. In season four, he learns that his accountant stole half of his fortune, a good $ 32 million, before he committed suicide. Not willing to make any savings, he takes on the role of game show host for The Box , which means he has to work with Merc again. Despite efforts on both sides, one cannot create an orderly working atmosphere and it ends with a tussle during the performance of the first episode.

Beverly Lincoln

Beverly (played by Tamsin Greig ) is a British screenwriter and the wife of Sean. In Great Britain she was successful with the series Lyman's Boys , written with her husband , of which she is supposed to write a US remake, which however has nothing to do with the original series after various changes. In Hollywood, her relationship with Sean deteriorates and she becomes envious of Morning. This ends with Beverly sleeping with Matt. Carol Rance

Carol (portrayed by Kathleen Rose Perkins ) is Vice President of the Program and Subordinate to the Program Director (Merc, Castor, Helen). She is more competent than Merc, so she should replace him before the board chose Castor. She had an affair with Merc for 5 years, which she ended at the end of the second season. In season three she begins an affair with Castor and in the fourth season a relationship with Helen. The relationship fails because of Helen's jealousy. At the end of the fourth season, she announces and accepts an offer from Castor for a job that turns out to be nonexistent. She has a close friendship with Beverly, with whom she enjoys smoking marijuana and hiking. She likes pucks!

Merc Lapidus

Merc (portrayed by John Parkow ) is the former program director. He brought Sean and Beverly to Los Angeles. He is married to Jamie Lapidus, who cheats on him with Matt and eventually leaves him for him too. He had an affair with Carol for 5 years which left him shortly after learning that he was released. He is choleric and has had a hatred for LeBlanc since season three, whom he cannot forgive for having uncomfortable his wife. After his release, he works as a producer and sells the game show The Box to the broadcaster . To his annoyance, LeBlanc is chosen as the moderator, with whom he does not get along despite serious attempts. He was named Man of the Year in Season 2 .

Morning Randolph

Morning (played by Mircea Monroe ) is an actress hired by the broadcaster to play Nicola McCutcheon in Pucks! to play. She is older than Beverly, although she looks significantly younger, which is supposed to be the result of plastic surgery . She likes Sean and has sex with him a lot in season 2. Andy Button

Andy (portrayed by Joseph May ) is head of the casting division. He's gay and the only one who enjoyed the dog talking show, for which he was fired from Merc. He was reinstated after a lawsuit.

Chris Diamantopoulos plays Castor Sotto

Myra (played by Daisy Haggard ) is head of the comedy division. She constantly has bad facial expressions and often makes disapproving noises. She has a child in season 4.

Castor Sotto

Castor (played by Chris Diamantopoulos ) is the station's program director in season 3 and thus the successor to Merc. He suffers from mental disorders, which must be treated with medication. One side effect is that he gets aroused by a lot of non-sexual things. To get rid of an erection, he starts an affair with Carol. After stopping the medication against the advice of his psychiatrist, he goes nuts and is discharged. At the end of the fourth season he offers Carol a nonexistent job in Wahn.

Jamie Lapidus

Jamie (played by Jenevieve O'Reilly ) is Merc's wife. She is blind after suffering from food poisoning while on vacation . In season 2, she begins an affair with Matt. In the last episode of the same season, she leaves Merc and begins a relationship with Matt. She ends this in season 3 after she finds out that Matt has cheated on her. She plays golf.

Diane

Diane (played by Fiona Glascott ) is Matt's ex-wife and the mother of his two children. She is often angry with Matt, whom she divorced after cheating on her several times. After Labia has approached her children, she threatens them to take away the visiting rights for the children. She was engaged again in the meantime, but broke off the engagement. Their favorite food are crabs from Baltimore .

Helen Basch

Helen (played by Andrea Savage ) is the broadcaster's program director and successor to Castor. She is divorced and is on medical marijuana for sleep disorders. She begins a lesbian relationship with Carol, which she ends because she is convinced that Carol is having an affair with Beverly.

Andrew Lesley

Andrew (played by Oliver Kieran-Jones ) is the former assistant to Sean and Beverly from England. He became a screenwriter and moved to Los Angeles. There he sold a script to Paramount Pictures in season one , which annoys the Lincoln very much. In season two sold another screenplay, in which he additionally directed to lead. He then wrote another series for NBC, with which he tried to poach Matt.

Labia

Rob Randolph

Rob (played by James Purefoy ) is the younger brother of Morning. In season two, he dated Beverly. He drives a truck that Sean is jealous of.

Wallace
