The Filialkirche St. Ilgen in St. Ilgen , municipality of Thörl , is a Roman Catholic subsidiary church of the Parish Thörl in the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag in the state of Styria . She is the St. Consecrated to Aegidius .

history

The Agidius Church in St. Ilgen was built in the third quarter of the 17th century and consecrated in 1677 by the bishop of Lavant Franz Kaspar von Stadion . Before that there was a Romanesque building. Until 1958 the church was incorporated into St. Lambrecht Abbey. Then it was under the Aflenz parish until 1961 . Since then it has been a branch church of the Thörl parish. The interior of the church was renovated in 1976/77.

Architecture and equipment

Only the choir used as a sacristy remains of the late Gothic building . This is single yoke with a 5/8 end and star rib vault. The church is oriented to the north. The interior is high and spacious. It consists of the two-bay nave and the 2½-bay, just closed choir.

The church has a baroque roof turret over the entrance facade (south), which is dated 1749. It was restored in 1957.

The high altar with a free-standing tabernacle was built in the Rococo style. A statue of St. Lambertus and one of St. Aegidius , both from the third quarter of the 18th century. The right side altar is dedicated to St. Consecrated to Johannes Nepomuk and equipped with a statue of Nepomuk.

From the late Gothic church building there is a Pietà and a bell, cast in 1457, in addition to the offering box . In 1957 three new bells were purchased.
