Flannel shirt

Flannel shirts are shirts that are characterized by the flannel fabric and a special cut.

Flannel shirts were originally produced in North America as work shirts, especially for farm and forest workers , which is where the name lumberjack shirt comes from. Similar to the jeans that are often worn in combination with flannel shirts , they developed into a common component of casual clothing.

Today, flannel shirts are usually made from cotton flannel and are predominantly classified as casual wear. As they are warmer and more durable than shirts made of smooth fabric, they are especially worn for outdoor activities (e.g. hiking ). Strong colors like red or blue are not uncommon; Checkered as a pattern may be considered classic. Cotton flannel is an easy-care material, suitable for machine washing according to the respective instructions. Flannel shirts are now also often offered in non-iron versions.
