Flesh And Bone - A bloody heritage is an American film drama from the year 1993 . Set in West Texas, the film tells the story of a past crime that overtakes a father and son.

action

Roy Sweeney and his young son Arlis roam West Texas as thieves. One night a burglary goes wrong and Roy shoots a married couple and their son. However, the second child, a baby, survives.

30 years later, Arlis leads a quiet life. He travels from place to place and waits for machines. On the way, the shy man meets Kay Davies, who is trying to break out of an unhappy marriage and who travels with him for a while. In doing so, they come closer. While they are staying in a motel, Arlis is lured out of the room by the young marauder Ginnie. It turns out that his father is behind it, who was injured in the back by shotgun pellets after a failed coup and wants to be treated by his son. Meanwhile, Ginnie finds a photo of a house in Kay's luggage, which she initially doesn't know what to do with. Later, when she leaves the couple with Arlis' father Roy, she recognizes the house on a country road. It's the house where Arlis and his father broke into the house, killing Kay's parents and her brother. The father gets scared and sends Ginnie back to the motel to get Kay. When Arlis returns from his tour, he finds the motel empty. But an employee tells him where the two women are going.

Arriving at the house, Arlis sees his father having the unsuspecting Kay, who has only a loose connection with her deceased parents, inspect the house. While Ginnie and Kay roam the fields outside, Roy confronts his son. Scared that his son will tell Kay about what happened, Roy gives him a choice of who should kill Kay. Arlis then shoots his father. Kay wants to go into the house after the gunshots, but Arlis refuses to let her in. You shouldn't find out what happened. The two separate in the last scene and Arlis drives away in his truck.

particularities

The film is officially known as a psychological thriller, but gives the wrong idea under this category. The slowly built-up story calmly depicts the characters of the main characters and their way of life corresponding to the Texan landscape. The dramatic and almost fatalistic side of the film is gradually built up.
